Evaluations
Evaluations are completed to create behavior plans that can be used to assist families, individuals, and direct care workers, in understanding and implementing appropriate treatment interventions. All evaluations include treatment recommendations to address the needs of each client as well as the environment they are living in. Recommendations may include interventions such as behavioral programs, specialized instructional services, parent training, or therapeutic interventions. Services may also include review of current behavioral concerns/data in order to review or revise current behavioral plans.
Behavioral Assessments
Services will focus on working with direct care workers in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) to inform Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
- Results from behavioral assessments will be shared with parents, and used to inform BIP goals and objectives.
- Per client need, continuous data collection of targeted behaviors of concern will be conducted and maintained over time to ensure behavioral progress.
- Results from data collection procedures will be shared with parents, caregivers, or school based team on at least a quarterly basis.
Behavior Intervention Planning
Services will focus on creating a client-centered Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) based on the results of an (FBA).
- The treatment plan will structure antecedent and consequence based strategies that are skill based, functionally equivalent, and non-aversive.
- The treatment plan will only include strategies that adhere to the ethical guidelines as set forth by the Department of Developmental Disabilities & Behavior Analyst Certification Board for Responsible Conduct.
- The treatment plan will be shared with direct care workers and parents prior to implementation. Staff and Parent feedback will be greatly considered when choosing appropriate intervention strategies.
Staff or Primary Care Training
Services will focus on working with parents, primary care givers, or staff in order to help generalize skills or behavior intervention strategies across all environments.
- This includes additional review of developmental or behavioral assessments.
- This includes providing training on basic ABA and PBS principals to provide instruction on how best to teach essential developmental skills.
- This includes providing training on basic ABA and PBS behavioral strategies to encourage positive behavioral change across all environments. The primary focus in this area is to support being responsive & proactive rather than reactive to behavior.
- Services can be used for workshops or Professional Development needs.
Monitoring
Services will focus on monitoring the success of an intervention overtime and the effects it has on targeted behaviors for increase and decrease by assessing data on a desired basis.
- This includes review of all data as needed to ensure positive behavioral change (eg. Weekly, monthly, or quarterly)
- This includes observation of direct-care workers and re-training if necessary.
- This includes singing off on all Behavioral Reports/ Face Sheets
- This includes writing Quarterly and Yearly Reports.
- This includes attending Quarterly and Yearly meetings.
Trauma-Informed/ Psychosocial Evaluations
For individuals with DCF services or mental health needs, a collaborative approach is taken with psychologists, Social Workers, and DBT/CBT Specialists. Psychosocial Evaluations will be used in coordination with behavioral assessments to inform a Treatment and Behavioral Support Plan.
